Cardio and Strength

My current workout routing is that Monday, Wednesday and Friday I do a t-tapp video (the total workout, or "hit the floor harder".
On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, I walk/run for 4.5 miles. During this time, I run for around 1.5 miles and then spend the rest of the time alternating between brisk walking and short sprints/fast running.
I think it's healthy and important to have a variable heart-rate while working out.

Cardio And Weights

I usually spend about an hour and a half at the gym. Any longer and I'm too tired, and any less and I feel like I'm skimping on my workout.
I love running, so when I first get to the gym, I run 2 miles. If you're just beginning, run at a slow speed. Increase your speed by 1 number (eg. 5.0 to 5.1) each time you workout, or once per week. Over time, you'll get faster and faster and you'll be less tired. Once you build up endurance, you can run for quite a while before you get tired.
Then it's on to the weights for strength training. But working every muscle group every time you workout is not a good idea. I like to mix it up. Work on chest arms and shoulders one day, buns and legs the next. It's good to give each muscle group a day or two to recover. Perhaps a full day of just cardio, then repeat.
Just one or the other isn't giving you a total workout. Be sure to take a couple days off, too, because you gain muscle when you are resting.
Don't forget to make your favorite workout playlist on your mp3 player as well. It will motivate you to work even harder. I don't think I could work out half as hard if I didn't have great workout songs to listen to.
Also make sure you bring a bottle of water with you to the gym. You'll be perspiring and will need to replace fluids to get through your workout.
This is what I do for a great workout.

p90x reviews

Does p90x work? I was introduced to p90x six months ago and I am yet to find a workout that challenges the body consistently as much as this one does.
It keeps my mind and body disciplined with the muscle confusion technique that is used.
p90x is a 90 day workout. I will be honest after 3 weeks I was starting to see some slight definition, nothing to brag about. By week 6 my abs were starting to form and was getting really excited by the results. By week 9....I had a "dammmmmn!!!! look at me!!!" body...hee hee...
Even though, the workouts are really tough, as the days and weeks progress, your stamina and endurance increases.
I was able to run a 5K without stopping, something I have never been able to do!
Some workouts are 1 - 1.5 hours so there is some sacrifice with time. I recommend a workout buddy, because I did the workout on my own but there were some days I needed some motivation.
Keep your protein levels up, to help your body repair. Also my metabolism increased ten fold, I ate much more than usual.
