Fitness Equipment

If convenience is important to you, you might want to consider buying a piece of fitness equipment for your home.

You'll be able to exercise any time you want and in any kind of weather. It's the perfect solution for busy people.

Consider Your Needs

Before heading out to make a purchase, it makes sense to take a little time to think about your needs.

Considerations for your selection should include your fitness goals, available space, and your budget. Try to find the best piece of equipment to meet all of these criteria.

Man on Fitness Equipment Goals

If you would like to increase your cardio workouts, a treadmill exercise bike or elliptical should be your first choice.

If your focus is on building muscle, a weight bench or a set of free weights would be more appropriate.

The Bowflex machine is a great piece of equipment for the home. You will definitely see your body transform with a Bowflex.

If you can only buy one piece of fitness equipment, make your first purchase with your immediate fitness goals in mind. As time goes by and you set additional goals you can always add additional pieces to your home gym.

Available Space

If you've got lots of room to spare for setting up a home gym, you might want to buy a couple pieces like a treadmill and an exercise bike, and maybe even a weight bench or home gym. If space is a premium for you, buying one piece such as an elliptical that works several body areas at once might be the wisest choice.

Of all my fitness equipment, I like to use my elliptical the most, since I feel like it gives me the best "overall" workout.

Budget

You can get started on your home gym with anywhere from several hundred dollars up to thousands. It all depends on which piece you buy, the quality of the equipment and of course where you shop.

When considering cost...

a good rule of thumb is to buy the highest quality that you can afford. This is especially true for equipment with motors, such as treadmills and ellipticals. The less expensive models may end of costing you more in the long run. They won't be sturdy enough to withstand the wear and tear of daily use like the higher end models.

Remember.....

  • Consider your needs
  • Do your homework
  • Shop wisely

and you'll be happily burning calories for many years to come!

Fitness Equipment I Recommend

Bodylastics Compact Gym System
If you're short on extra space, Bodylastics is a compact workout system that is designed to provide workouts that rival the bigger and more expensive exercise machines. This amazing system is used by personal trainers, pro athletes, the US military and even S.W.A.T. teams for their training. The compact machines are the size of a pair of shoes, yet can be used for muscle building, body toning, even weight loss.

Total Gym®

You've seen it on TV endorsed by Chuck Norris & Christie Brinkley. The Total Gym provides an entire gym full of equipment in one machine and best of all, it takes just 10-20 minutes a day to reshape your body.

Bowflex® TreadClimber® cardio machine
Get the body you want in half the time! Bowflex Treadclimber is simply the best treadmill/stepper on the market today. You can burn twice as many calories as working on a treadmill alone. Your legs and butt will get a great workout and you'll feel that high intensity cardio workout at the same time.
