Heart Healthy Breakfast Menu

Do you eat a heart healthy breakfast menu?

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and good eats should be consumed if you want to have the energy, clarity, and strength to make it through your day.

Not eating when you get up in the morning can cause stress on the body.

Have you ever gone without eating and end up with a pounding headache or a nauseated stomach?

Plus, lack of motivation and no energy whatsoever on top of it?

That is what happens when the body does not get the food it needs in order to function.

A healthy breakfast menu should consist of healthy fats, whole grains, dairy, proteins and carbohydrates.

So enjoy a good healthy breakfast to start your day right.

  • Eggs - Any Way You Like Them!

Eggs are high in protein and omega 3‘s and can provide energy and food to the body. Sunny side up are delicious for dipping whole wheat bread in as well as crumbling up some low-sodium bacon on top. Another way to make eggs is by creating an omelette. Take a ride in the wild wild west, and make a western omelette filled with low-fat cheeses, onions, bell peppers and spicy hots! I'll be good to the last bite, and packed with tons of nutrients for your body!

  • Carbohydrates - Fuel Yourself!

Don't be afraid of carbs! When the body needs energy, carbohydrates kick in! Whole grains are an excellent source of carbs that pack a punch right when you need it most. Eat a whole wheat bagel with a few tablespoons of peanut butter. Grab a piece of fruit such as a banana or an orange. Oatmeal is another great alternative that can be sweetened with honey or fresh fruit.

  • Dairy - It Does a Body Good!

Calcium is so important to the body. If you lack in this specific nutrient, you could suffer from several health problems as you get older, including osteoporosis. Consider drinking an 8 ounce glass of skim milk with your breakfast. Chobani yogurt is delicious and rich in live cultures, calcium, and Vitamin D. Reduced-fat string cheese is a great snack to have in the morning with a few whole wheat crackers.

  • Healthy Fats - The Good Ones!

Your body needs fat in order to protect your organs, cells, skin and hair. It is a vital nutrient that should not get a bad rap. The key is to use fats in moderation, and not go overboard by drenching your salad in olive oil or dipping your steamed shrimp in melted butter. Stay away from food that contains trans fat. It is bad for the heart and can cause long-term health problems. Stick with your oils, avocados, and nuts.

Remember, a heart healthy breakfast menu is the best way to stay on track with good morning eating habits. Starting your day off right will promote physical and emotional wellbeing to help you live a healthier happier life!
