A Good Pilates Exercise Mat Enhances Your Workout
A pilates exercise mat is essential if your work out plans include pilates or any kind of on the floor stretching. Pilates is a low-impact exercise that stresses core strength gained through the use of postures and routines. The movements are slow and controlled and most of them are done on the floor.
Doing floor stretches and exercises without a good mat can actually cause more harm than good. You can get bruised and sore from exercising on a hard surface. Not to mention it hurts!

The mat you choose certainly need not be one of the super premium exercise mats on the market. But I would recommend not going for the cheapest exercise mat either. You are going to want enough padding to provide a good cushion for your knees and hands. The last thing you need is a knee injury caused by a slip on a hard floor! Think of it as an investment in your good health - and what could be more valuable than that!
